EduCon 2023

I have worked with public middle and high schools across NYC (for 9 years as head of Competency Collaborative) and across Washington State (for 3 years as professional learning lead for Mastery-based Learning Collaborative). Both practitioner networks were learning about and using competency-based education (CBE) within a framework of culturally responsive-sustaining education (CRSE), with equity as a guiding value. This work involves transforming academics and school culture to serve students learning and wellbeing—it’s a compelling journey for educators, as well.
