About Me

I’ve been teaching literature and humanities for more than 30 years. I studied semiotics at Columbia GSAS, reading the works of Saussure, Derrida, DeLeuze and Guattari, Lacan, Kristeva, Eco - all the polymaths and thinkers of post- and post-post modernism, and learned the art of integrated thinking and exploring complexity. My lifelong teaching goal: inspiring all kinds of minds to notice and find the joy in examining all kinds of “texts” through many lenses via focused, systematic inquiry, discussions, projects, modes of discovery.

1. Visual Narrative for Teachers 9:30am–12:30pm
  - Filmmaking for Teachers*
    
    Join us in 605 to work with students and faculty of SLA’s CTE Digital Video program to learn how to design and manage video projects in your classes. This three-hour interactive workshop has a limit of 30 participants. Please sign up by clicking the link above.

    SLA-Center City will be open for visitors from 10am to 3pm. Visit classes, talk to students and teachers and meet up with EduCon friends old and new!

    - SLA Middle School is located at 3610 W Warren Street. Our entrance is off of Warren Street and our school is located on the 2nd floor of the building
    - We are near the 34th and Market train/El stop and across the street from the 10 trolley stop at 36th street
    - Please make sure you have your EduCon badge with you when you arrive.
