About Me

My professional life has encompassed many facets of education. I have worked as the Head of Middle School for Alta Vista School in San Francisco, CA. Prior to this position I was the Assistant Head of School at Synapse School in Menlo Park, CA and the Director of Curriculum for Keys School in Palo Alto, CA. My family and I moved west from Massachusetts, where I was the Director of Academic Technology, a 7th grade English and an upper school digital video teacher at Belmont Hill School, an independent boys school near Boston, MA. I have also taught 12th grade Digital Journalism, 6th grade math and science, and worked as a technology integration specialist in grades K-12. I am trained in design thinking, project based learning, and as a Critical Friends coach.

Outside of the classroom I have been recognized by organizations across the country. I was selected to be a NAIS Teacher of the Future. I was also invited by NAIS to sit on their Technology Task Force. I regularly speak about curriculum at conferences around the country and around the world. I am a founding organizer of both EdcampBoston and EdcampIS, two unconferences that bring together hundreds of educators to talk about teaching and learning. I sit on the board of Girls Middle School in Palo Alto and also serve as Vice President of the Board for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Redwood City.
